It turned out that during the upgrade the “C:\program files\common files\system\ole db\oledb.dll” file did not upgrade and this was preventing remote access from accessing its datastore. You cannot post new polls. This does not seem correct to me. If event ID 7034 is also logged forÂ this service, then restoring the service default settings to resolve event ID 7034 would also resolve this error. SQL Server will start and stop this service when it needs to.
