Somehow I get the impression that nobody actually knows how to solve this one. As templar112 has discovered, it usually comes down to which software is the most compatible with the hardware and drivers that work the device. The Firewire card is perfectly installed n its listed in Device manager.
Also, what camcorder do you have? I don't have that problem when capturing miniDV's - just 8mm. You always want audio for Video to be at 48k. The drivers I had installed were correct, however: My friend dug up the software that actually came with the Compro C200 USB Capture stick. my sony camcorder is a DCR-HC30E . Here only puts strange - if the camera not to disconnect after detection does not deliver, and will be while the camera you will not ungear. Vegas support had me do a "settings reset" then boot windows with no services/startup apps, but still not working.Anyone see this before? Then I came to know about Firewire thingy. No, I've also done a coupls of system restores going back to when it worked correctly, no success...
