P.S. : I didnt change the settings when I got the error message. It seems that the compiler has recorded somewhere that it has already successfully generated the PCH, and so it doesn't need to do it. If you get the PCH missing error, its because someone (not saying who ) decided to set the entire project to /Yu . By setting this option's value to : Create Precompiled Header (/Yc), VS will always create the pch file first, and then uses it. I corrected the tip.
